Jaune @ The Crystal Ship 2016

Jaune enjoys working with elements of the public space and giving it its own dynamics by strategically positioning his yellow garbage men into it.

The yellow garbage men of Jaune are a familiar sight in the Belgian streetscape. The idea arose out of his own experiences as a garbage man. He noticed that although he was wearing a yellow fluorescent jacket, he appeared invisible to other people. Jaune gives his garbage men a new meaning by placing them into weird situations. Each work has a strong message that is often hidden behind humor. The very people who usually help clean up the world are now the ones creating chaos. For example: they can be seen climbing on buildings, or playing golf with garbage that was lying around.
